Building Our Ryan Home: Week 7
On Tuesday, we had our Pre-dry wall meeting. This meeting takes place after the plumbing, HVAC and electrical are all in place and the inspection is passed. During this step you walk through the entire house with your Project Manager (PM) and talk through all of the details such as door swing, plumbing/electrical/HVAC location, cable locations, thermostat, smoke detector, light locations, pretty much all of the things. At the end of the walk through he shared with us that by our return on Sunday the insulation would be installed, dry wall delivered with installation possibly started and the brick should be started on the exterior.
On Sunday, we arrived and the brick had not yet been started. At our drywall meeting our PM mentioned that the exterior couldn't be started until after the drywall delivery was in the house, so pulling up I didn't have high hopes for the exterior. But, when we walked through the door I was shocked to see ALL of the dry wall is up. It is amazing to see all of the rooms start to come together and really start to envision how our home will look in a few short weeks. I can no longer stand in the kitchen and see through my office!!
We also had a visitor with us today! Our blue heeler, Murray, came with us. We are hoping that having our boys take turns seeing the house these last few weeks will help them adjust once we move.
All in all this was a VERY productive week! I am looking forward to seeing the exterior come together over the next few weeks and continue to watch the interior be transformed!
