Building Our Ryan Home: Week 6
Welcome to week 6!! At this point you have made it to the part where things really start moving quickly and so many changes take place during just six short days. When we were picking our floor plan, the Palermo checked most of our boxes. We fully understand they are not a custom home builder so we are willing to do some work when we move in to give us exactly what we want. When planning for these changes we decided to move the setup of some of the lights/electrical. Additionally, we learned that some of the outlet placement in our current home is not functional. Outlet placement can be tricky because of specific codes, but we want to discuss options and make things more functional, where possible, this time around. So, we requested a consult with the electrician, which our PM agreed to, before they install anything. Well, the wiring is all taking place THIS WEEK so our project manager arranged for us to meet with the electrician on Thursday.
When we walked in the HVAC crew and plumber were working away so we were able to see how that was coming. Our basement and garage floors had also been poured earlier in the week and our PM informed us that our exterior supplies (brick and mortar) were to be delivered that day.
During our meeting we got to see our kitchen floor plan laid out.
We also walked around and noticed that tubs and showers are in!
Our PM marked everything as we talked about light/outlet placement. After our consult he recommended that we come back Saturday morning when the electrician was there so we could make sure we were on the same page. Before we left the consult we scheduled our pre-drywall meeting for next week.
On Saturday, we got there bright an early! The electrician and his crew were already to work . We checked everything and he had it under control and knew exactly what we wanted! We also noticed some new things in our yard! It is all of our brick and mortar for the front of our house, which is schedule to be put on next week!
