Building Our Ryan Home: Week 5

WE HAVE A HOUSE! 

The realtor selling our current home is a friend of ours and this week she brought a photographer over to take pictures for our listing. While she was here she mentioned she had gone by our new house and all of the exterior framing was up! After our visit last week and not seeing any progress, I was thrilled! Our project manager also called to say that all the framing was up and tell us what is coming up next week. Things are going to start to pick up over the next couple weeks, we only have {about} 8 weeks {or less} remaining. 

So, let's take a look at what happened during week 5:

Look at that exterior! Not only is the framing up, but the windows and doors are in and the roof is underway. Everything structurally is up for the exterior. They have heaters going on the inside to prepare for everything coming up next week.

The interior is also looking great! This picture was taken from our living room area looking in through my office. All interior walls are framed for both floors, subfloors are laid, holes are cut for plumbing. Everything seems ready for the trades to start coming in. 

This week was emotional for me. A floor plan on paper is kind of hard to wrap your head around. Some of them have models available, but the Palermo did not in our area, so I have been using the virtual tour feature on the Ryan Homes website. Our house is a reverse floor plan so even though I have looked at it a million times, it took me a second to orient myself. It was just so surreal to walk through the house and show the girls the different rooms. They all picked which room they want and started to talk about where furniture will be going. This week is when the dream really came to life.
