Building Our Ryan Home: Week 3
Here we are at week 3! I cannot believe how quickly this is going by already. This second time around has been a lot better for tracking the process since we live so much closer to our new build.
This week was a pretty low-key week since Christmas was right in the middle. When we went to check this week we pulled up to a big pile of wood along with all the doors and windows. I was kind of hoping we would come and see SOMETHING done to the actual house, but it looks like they just took the whole week off to probably focus on a few houses in our neighborhood that are closer to the end of their building timeline.
Now we wait! I am curious to see what will happen in week 4. When we built our current house they began digging in the day after Labor Day, in September and we closed on November 22nd. We really didn't have to worry about the winter weather or holidays. This time around we have had two weeks of holidays, with this week being New Years Eve and New Years day along with a couple rainy (and very windy) days in the forecast. I am hopeful that we can stay on our timeline and once they get the exterior up and floors poured the weather won't matter so much as we come up against more Ohio winter weather.
